Cousins bed harrow, or potato slitter tine machine, 7.6m, 4 beds (3 beds and 2 half beds), 25 tines. SN 2008 233. The famous potato agronomist David Hudson was a big advocate of this machine which is designed to lightly cultivate the ploughing in the spring in preparation of the potato cultivations. It is run across the land at a relatively shallow depth, as is designed to just gently open the land up to allow air in and aid drying before the main cultivations. It works very well on the silt soils in the Lincolnshire fens where we have used it very successfully. We have stopped growing potatoes and thus it is now available for sale. It is a simple and easy machine to maintain.
